This week the focus was collage. I learnt that collage is an artistic compositions made of various materials. It is also a creative piece of work that resembles compositions in various materials. Artists such as Kaoul Hausman, John Heartfield, Kurt Schwitters, David Hockney, Peter Lewis were artists that were looked at. Looking at there artworks were really appealing and clever in the sense that the way they placed each thing within the artwork gave a meaning and made the artwork look artistically pleasing.
My main aim throughout this lesson was to learn some basic skills with creating a collage piece of work in photoshop. once i master learning how to use it and confident in the sense that i can place things where the image interwinds with various images i think i can create really satisfying pieces of artwork showing displacement and abstraction. I learnt with my own image i created that placing a bunch of random things together isn;t really the true understanding of collage. It was important to consider conventional design elements and principles such as composition, lines, shapes, colour, form and texture.
Throughout this lesson i like the whole idea of collage and what can be created. I found that my image was to cut and paste i need to work on trying to create the image so that it flows all together. Overall i liked collage.

Week4: Vision and Manipulation: An Introduction Digital photography
Throughout this week we were exploring photography and how it is changing rapidly. The exploration of photography being frozen in time with an unquestionable products was something that i wanted to take and produce in my own artwork.
I wanted to explore a series of photographs with no absolute truth, showing a variety of unusual subject matter in circumstances that you wouldn't see them in. This week I had already explored photographs of particular scenery and what I wanted to try and use throughout my artwork. Maybe using props such as a chair, in the middle of a high way and getting people to look at it and then interpret the way that they would like to.
The photos were taken in a country setting and the surrounding show the main focus. I want to also be able to bring about people viewing them real thinking of how and why you doesn't see these situations in real life. I need to take more photos and develop the ideas of what i will be using in the props but i feel with more exploration it will develop and more ideas of what works and what doesn't we also become evident. i want to experiment with different textures and shades throughout the photographs and explore techniques on photoshop that i have used before.
This week the developing of ideas were becoming more clear and approach of how they will be protrayed also clear.

Week 3: txt,pix & mre: Mobile Phone art
This week, the main focus was on mobile phones and how art can be created using blue tooth and connecting it to a Mac Computer. This was something that i hadn't done before so it was good to see a new world of creating art. Mobile phones is a source of technology that is being used everyday. I just never thought you could actually classify it as being an artwork. Mobile phone art can be created by using text messages, take photos and video, listening to music, uploading and downloading all sort of material.
Throughout this class my main aim was to put down an idea that is solid that i will be working on. It was hard to figure out what i will be doing for my final artworks. My main ideas that i came up with were creating a series of photos that i can manipulate such as taking photos of scenery and placing objects that might not be seen in a particular place but displacing them so people can make there own interpretation up or the artwork. For example using real materials such as a phone or everyday materials and placing them in situations where people wouldn't associate them. Using the objects to verify meaning to the audience where a certain message can be conveyed or an understanding that people wouldn't of thought could be seen.
Overall i want to create a image that shows something that is so mind blowing that the auidence will be left there still trying to work it out. This idea can incorporate a range of different ideas using text, using photography, using mobile phones. I haven't decided the exact media to use but i feel at ease of what i am doing. I would love to just start it and get all the ideas down on paper. Overall it was a start of ideas that can be possible.

Week 2: Text effect
Throughout this week, text art was the main focus. I learnt what program enabled us to create text art and the different ways text art could be used. I found this week a little challenging because it was new to me. I learnt that text art could be used is a range of ways to really implement a message to the viewers of the art work. I found that there was also a lot of advantages when using text art. It helps bring about meaning throughout a art.
Looking at text art gave me ideas for my own art. I was thinking about taking photos then changing them and adding text art. Such as faces that can incorporate a range of different art medias. I was also thinking about everyday ideas that are photographed with simple messaging. This could also lead to thoughts being conveyed throughout my art work. Using newspapers to get ideas of quotes or simple statements that express a particular view. Using simple images may also make text art such as a fork and incorporating a statement about food. I was thinking about using animals to create text art. Using messages to advocate to people different viewpoints on a particular artwork. Also creating patterns with using letters such as the Big M from Maccas and conveying a message about the art work.
This week really opened my eyes to a different way of making art. Some of the artists and ideas really showed a clever way of creating artwork. Overall in was a insightful class with a lot that was learnt and inspiration that could be taken away and used.
